The Paso Fino is a unique breed in that the culture the horse evolved in "enjoys" the horse in a very different way from the American culture. Most Latin owners take pride in seeing their horse shown to victory while most Americans want to experience the thrill of victory by riding the horse themselves. Given that our marriage blends the Latin and American cultures, we understand both points of view and have successfully achieved harmony between both. This provides an enjoyable experience learning the culture of the breed with an appreciation for the way you want to enjoy your horse. Because of this cultural appreciation, we are able to offer a unique lesson program. Our philosophy is based on Tara's years of experience "on the other side of the fence" as a horse owner and Amateur melded with Carlos' years of experience living and breathing "the Paso Fino horse".

We have a curriculum based on levels defined for the different uses of the horse. There are concrete requirements to graduate from one level to the next, ensuring our riders are growing with their lessons and not just out for a weekly pony ride. We offer lessons in riding and training depending upon the goals and requirements of the student. We have lesson horses for you to learn on a fully trained horse until you are of ability to move on to the next level. Once you have a horse of your own, we can teach you to work with your horse in the environments you wish to enjoy your horse. To this end, we offer arena lessons and trail lessons. We can tailor your program to teach you to become a top show competitor, to improve your maneuvers for mounted drill team or to help you handle the challenges riding from Florida's great trail heads. We have a number of show horses at our disposal and can work leases for Youth riders looking for show experience on their way to purchasing a show contender.

We are proud to say our teaching ability is among the top with an insight into the rider's strong and weak points, fears, joys and abilities. Our goal is to teach you our system so that you understand it from the inside out. We don't just tell you to do an action - we explain the reason for the action, the influence the action exerts on the horse and the expected horse's reaction. The horse reaction insight comes from years of training experience and puts a shift in our lesson program toward the training of the horse. Each time you ride your horse, you teach it something and we strive to teach you how to teach your horse the very best.

Private lessons are available at a cost of $40.00 for a 45-minute lesson. Group lessons are $25.00 per person for a 45-minute lesson, minimum 3 riders and maximum of 5. Your horse or ours.

Tobon Paso Fino Studio is located at Seminole Winds Farm on Hwy 316 in Marion County before the town of Williston. We are 2 miles from the intersection of 27 and 316 on the left.. We also offer lessons for our students in the south of Ocala and The Villages at Hacienda De La Mancha's Covered Riding Arena on SE 145th St., one mile from S 475 in Summerfield.
